Erasmus+ CBHE Project Desimination to Griffith University: TourismZero and INNO4Tourism project

Erasmus+ CBHE Project Desimination' Team official visit to the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattaraporn Khuwuthyakorn, Project Leader, Asst. Prof. Dr. Achara Khamaksorn and Asst. Prof. Dr. Orawit Thinnukool presented the collaborative project titled “Innovative Curricula for Life-Long Learning of Sustainable Tourism Workforce”. This project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program and is scheduled to run for three years (December 1, 2023 – November 30, 2026).  Now in its third year, the project is in the pilot phase of implementing a curriculum developed collaboratively by partner universities. This curriculum is currently being delivered at the university level and is also being adapted for use by targeted entrepreneurs in the tourism and service sectors. 

The session was warmly welcomed by Professor Jun Zhou, Associate Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technology, along with university executives and academic staff, demonstrating strong mutual interest in fostering international academic partnerships.

Dr. Pattaraporn Khuwuthyakorn  also introduced the TourismZero initiative, a complementary project aimed at promoting zero-waste tourism practices and sustainability in the hospitality and tourism sector.  This project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program and is scheduled to run for three years (2025-2027). The project integrates innovative approaches to environmental responsibility and Entrepreneur'service and tourism business engagement, aligned with the global agenda for sustainable development.  The outcome of this phase is a report presenting proposals for the development of a curriculum focused on zero waste and related environmental quality assessments. This effort is currently in progress through intensive collaboration with partner universities, including institutions within the European Union. The resulting curriculum is intended for implementation both as an academic course for students and as a practical training program for relevant entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, discussions were held to explore a prospective joint curriculum development agreement between the College of Arts and Technology and the School of Technology at Griffith University. The goal is to enhance interdisciplinary academic collaboration, particularly in areas relevant to, Modern management and information technology.

This visit signifies a significant step toward strengthening international academic collaboration and co-developing forward-looking curricula that prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving global workforce.
