Janyaporn who joined the the Erasmus+ Programme at University of Florence 2025, Janyaporn study is for development of a web application for a carbon footprint system for the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. The application is designed to allow personnel to record, calculate, and display carbon emission and reduction data in dashboard and graph formats, facilitating easier understanding of complex data. Although the system is not yet fully functional, it can serve as a prototype for others to further develop.

Miss Janyaporn Saigram explained that her primary motivation for joining the program was a strong desire for self-development, both academically and professionally. During her fourth year of study, she worked as a research assistant under the Work Integrated Learning program. This experience helped her discover a genuine interest in research and recognize the value of interdisciplinary learning.
In particular, she became interested in integrating Information Technology (IT) with Social Sciences in order to address social issues and enhance the quality of life for people. This realization inspired her to seek opportunities that would allow her to expand her knowledge and skills across disciplines.
Studying abroad broadened Miss Janyaporn’s perspective significantly. She had opportunities to experience different cultures, places, and transportation systems that contrasted with those in Thailand. These experiences enabled her to view the world from new angles and develop a deeper understanding of social diversity.
Moreover, she became more confident in expressing her opinions and gained valuable friendships. One of the most memorable aspects of the program was the care and support provided by the program staff. Their constant assistance made her feel safe, welcomed, and confident throughout her stay abroad. Even several months after returning, she still feels a strong desire to participate in similar experiences again.
Miss Janyaporn noted that she had to adapt to differences in climate, culture, and lifestyle. However, the friendly atmosphere and strong support from peers and staff enabled her to adjust relatively quickly. This experience taught her the importance of openness and flexibility when encountering new environments and unfamiliar situations.
Her final project involved developing a web application for a carbon footprint system for the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. The system was designed to allow staff members to record, calculate, and visualize data related to carbon emissions and carbon reduction. The results were presented through dashboards and graphs to make complex data easier to understand.
Although the system was not fully complete in terms of practical implementation, it served as a prototype that could be further developed in the future. Miss Janyaporn emphasized that the project provided valuable experience in applying interdisciplinary knowledge and technological skills to real-world problems.
Miss Janyaporn suggested that strong English proficiency and a clear Motivation Letter are crucial for applicants, as they demonstrate clear goals and expectations from the program. She also recommended learning basic local language skills and preparing for different learning styles compared to those in Thailand. Proper preparation, she concluded, is essential for maximizing the benefits of international academic programs.
